We all fantasized about this years ago. It was a warm summer afternoon back in the annals of our childhood when we realized, “Hrm, I’m not sure I will make it into the NBA.” And with that, you hung up your Reebok Pump’s and began to search for another avenue for your talents. Professional Monopoly seemed daunting and RISK involved just a little more math than you would prefer. In the dawning of the age of Nintendo, many of us saw new personal potential. I thought to myself, “I killed Mother Brain and only had to use two of my Energy Tanks. I won Super Mario Brothers without dying once. And, Gannon was my personal bitch (albeit, ‘personal bitch’ was outside of my vocabulary at the time, forgive me).” Needless to say, my dreams of becoming a professional video gamer would not come to pass. It was just not my time.
But, a new generation will have the opportunity to carry on this quest for excellence. The World Series of Video Games has added World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade to their competitive circuit. With the advent of the Arena system, teams can compete in 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 battles for glory in the world of Outland. Check out some of the video feeds to see the action. Finally, a productive outlet for the fans of World of Warcraft. Those days spent grinding honor and PVP armor are all worth it now…excellent.
